If you are seeking independent evaluations please contact me immediately. Please contact your Special Education Department to schedule your child’s Annual Review.   My calendar is going to fill up quickly for Annual Reviews. This is an extremely busy time for everyone.  All Annual Review need to be scheduled ASAP so I’m available to attend.  I don’t have support staff so it’s your responsibility to confirm a date and time for your child’s Annual Review.  An Annual Review is your child’s program for the following year.  At the Annual Review we will be discussing placement, program, related services, accommodations, modifications, annual goals, evaluations and summer school and transportation if necessary. At the Annual Review we will be making sure your child’s IEP is working.  It gives us a chance to discuss with teachers and your child’s weaknesses and strengths.  If your child didn’t meet any or all of his goals that quarter, we can hammer out new ways to help your child.  That may mean modifying the goal and adjusting expectations or it could mean giving your child more or different kinds of services and support. The Annual Review is when you, me,  teachers and the school give and get input on how your child is doing.  We will discuss what’s working what needs to change and whether your child is catching up or falling further behind.  Your child’s feelings and motivations should be included in the conversation, whether or not your child attends the meeting. Please remember all evaluations must be completed before the Annual Review.  If you are in disagreement with the evaluations you are entitled to an Independent Educational Evaluation.  An IEE is one that is conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the school district.  Public expense means that the school district either pays for the full expense of the evaluation. Please call me at 631-276-3027 if you have any questions.   Thank you

We’re about two/three weeks into using Mr. Rock as an advocate, with his techniques for learning, and with his advice on an overall plan for our daughter who has been struggling with ADHD for the past few years. The only negative thing I can say is the regret that we didn’t find him sooner. My daughter got a 4 (highest grade) on her spelling test last week after receiving 1s and 0s for as long as I can remember. She is enjoying both the specialized techniques and the recommended tools, and so not only has some added confidence from this week’s grade but also a desire to actually do the work (which is new, trust me).

    Thanks very much, Wayne.

    How is this Wayne?

Our child was in desperate need of professional help but
we could not get the school to address her needs. For nine months, the school
system gave us the bureaucratic run-around. Meanwhile, our child fell further
behind and became socially isolated. Unless something was done quickly, our
daughter was going to simply fall behind and then be discarded and ignored by
    the school system.

We approached Wayne and he negotiated us through the
school’s bureaucratic labyrinth. And he fought relentlessly at our hearings
until our child received the help she deserved. Thanks to Wayne our child was
placed in a class that addresses her needs. She is much, much happier and
well-adjusted. And her academic progress is remarkable. We experienced a
complete turnaround in just a few months. My child would never have been placed
in this class without Wayne’s relentless advocacy on her behalf. Thank you
    Wayne!

Before heading to my daughters CSE meeting, I began looking for an advocate to bring with me. Luckily, I found Wayne Rock! Having someone with Wayne’s knowledge and expertise by my side put my mind at ease during this very stressful time. He helped worked out the details of my daughters IEP and offered his valuable opinion when the school district insisted I decide my daughter’s placement before the end of the meeting. Now Wayne is putting to action his plan to ask for compensatory home tutoring for my daughter because the district took a full year to have her CSE meeting from the time I requested the evaluation. He also plans to request that the district performs further testing to help address my daughter’s learning needs. In the meantime, Wayne has been sending me weekly visuals for my daughter’s spelling words which has helped bring her test score from a 17% to 100%!!!! He has also recommended a computer software program and some excellent workbooks to help my daughter with phonics awareness and reading. I know with Wayne by my side my daughter will receive all the proper services to address her learning needs. Thank you so much Wayne Rock!!!!!!!!

Wayne really rocks!!! I went to a district meeting by myself and left so upset cause they wouldn’t give me SEIT so I searched online and found Wayne. I am so happy that I found a great professional, because of him I just got SEIT.
Wayne was really effective and really fast. If you want SEIT you should call him right away. Thank you Wayne, you rock!

  5. Lynn Kariamis says:

I thought as a concerned and caring parent I could handle the CSE meeting alone and stress my point of view

because I had done so in the past. But, when the playing field had changed I felt like I was not given any other

options. i was panicked, Wayne was there, he took my panicked phone call with his extremely busy schedule and

    fit us in. Heaven sent.

Wayne’s knowledge and experience has made all the difference. I tried to get similar results

and failed, Wayne succeeded with his direct conversations with the educators and myself. He hit the nail on the

head, you can really tell this is not only a job, this is his passion, we are forever in your debt.

    Thank you, Mr. Rock

Wayne Rock Helped my 3 year old son to get home ABA service and 1:1 Paraprofessional. Thanks. He did his magic again.

  7. Lisa says:

My 18 year old son has multiple disabilities which masked one of his more crippling disabilities, autism. Wayne Rock was not only instrumental in getting him the proper diagnosis of autism, he also was able to to have the school district provide critical ABA at home services, despite being in a private school high school. These services are long over due for my son, and will help him achieve a level of independence and hopefully, enough social skills to make a friend. Thank you Wayne Rock!

  8. Heather says:

Wayne Rock is an excellent advocate! He goes above and beyond for our children. He attended a CSE meeting with me, and was able to get the district to agree to more speech services for my son. He also convinced the district to pay for a Central Auditory Processing Evaluation. He takes the time to advise parents on educational strategies that can be used at home to help children with learning disabilities. For example, Wayne created visuals for my son’s vocabulary words to help him to memorize the definitions. He then convinced my son’s teacher to use this strategy, and was able to get this accommodation on my son’s IEP! Thank you WR!

  9. Lisa says:

I would never attend a CSE meeting without Wayne. He understands everything about what is being said at your meeting and gets everything you need so your children get the education they deserve. Wayne Rock is my rock at CSE meetings. Thank you so much for all you do.

  10. Pat says:

Wayne has helped my children a great deal. My children are now placed appropriately. His name really applies to him because he really ROCKS! He really knows the educational law.

  11. Nick says:

As a first grader, my autistic son receives education in an excellent private school paid for by the state and 7.5 hrs/wk of ABA therapy along with 2x 30 min Speech Therapy after school. Without Wayne, all this would never have been possible. He has made an invaluable difference in my son’s life and in our family’s life. His deep experience and ability to carry forward a child’s placement and services in pendency easily equal or exceed that of any high quality education lawyer at a fraction of the cost. If your child has special needs, he fights with determination, acumen and real understanding of that child’s unique needs and achieves exceptional results. He is an enormous asset and a good friend.

    A Grateful Parent

    Many thanks, Wayne!
    Best regards,
    from Nick

  12. Lisa says:

My son is only 7 1/2 and this was our first experience with the system and hands down, I owe every bit of our success to Wayne. He explained the process honestly and clearly and helped us to understand what lay ahead and what our options were. He never blew smoke and told us exactly what the odds were and prepared us accordingly. That said, the day of our CSE meeting, he came fully prepared and was ready with answers to every question posed and posed his own that we did not even think were in our right to ask. Despite the almost insurmountable odds of our particular situation, Wayne managed to get us everything we needed from our meeting. The most important thing about Wayne to us is that he understands the complexities and details of a system that seems to be set up to make getting the right help you need for your child in an effective and expedient way almost impossible. He makes things happen and for that, we are ETERNALLY grateful.

  13. Lorraine says:

I’m a step-mother of a 15 year old child. I have had two advocates in the last 5 years. I now have the right person, I’m so very very pleased with Wayne. I truly feel blessed that I found him. My child has been pushed through grade after grade. I have tryed to learn as much as I can about the school system to advocate for my son but it’s way to much for the average person to understand. Wayne knows the system like the back of his hand. We had our first CSE meeting the other day and I knew walking in that he had my back. Last year alone I had 4 CSE meetings and every time I either cryed or left with my stomach in knots. Not anymore. My son has ADHD and will find out from the IEE if he is on the spectrum. He also has a very low IQ. The joy I feel knowing my son will get everything he is entitled to because of Wayne is indescribable. I met with an attorney over a year ago but I didn’t hire him, I wasn’t able to afford his fee. Wayne’s fee is very reasonable. Even if their fees were the same I would go with Wayne. He truly does care about children and will fight the fight. Hands down, Wayne’s the man. Thank you !

  14. Joy says:

I am the mother of a twice-exceptional boy. My son was diagnosed PDD at age of 2. We had ST, OT, PT & ABA through early intervention. He made so much progress that DOE did not offer any more services when he started Kindergarten. We removed him to different private schools hoping to get more individual attention, but none of the schools had the willingness and resources to help him. He has extremely high IQ, but his pragmatic and social skills are very poor, often teased by his peers and misunderstood by the teachers. This year we enrolled him back to public school in 3rd grade G&T class because he scored 99 percentile in G&T test. We were very worried that the school will kick him out from the G&T class as soon as the teachers find out about his issues. I have been extraordinarily blessed to come across Wayne finally. He is not only knowledgeable, he also provides an extremely thoughtful and no-nonsense approach to help me fight for my son’s rights. He came with me to meet with the school principal, the teacher and the support team, and he also attended IEP meeting. He makes sure my son stays in the current program and gets additional services to address his special needs. I know it is a lifelong process to advocate for my son, and with Wayne by my side, I don’t feel alone any more! Thank you, Wayne!

  15. Pam says:

I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful work on behalf of my Granddaughter! You did an awesome job, in helping us to keep her classified, at her IEP meeting! Also, thanks to you, we were able to retain her Speech Therapy, at least for now.

Thanks for all that you did!

    You were awesome!

  16. Kelly says:

Wayne Rock is the best person we know. We called the school in spring 2013.We
asked for more services. They said they were sorry, they couldn’t give us any.
We were told we needed an advocate. The #2 best person we know is the girl who
recommended Wayne Rock. He met with us right away. He saw our son and said he
needed a lot of help. By August 2013 we had a CSE meeting. We got all the help
our son needed and deserved. We don’t sign a paper from the school without Wayne
reading it. We don’t go to a meeting without consulting with Wayne first. Any
questions we have, Wayne is always there. We see so much improvement in our son
since he got the services he needed thanks to Wayne. THANK YOU WAYNE. YOU ARE
    THE BEST.

  17. Steve & Maggie Popolizio says:

Once again Mr. Rock has come through.
Yes, sometimes he speaks faster than the speed of light.
Yes, he pushes you to the edge.
And yes, he is a Pit Bull.(And that is meant as a kind compliment)
But, he is passionate about what he does and our son might not be as progressive and well adjusted if it were not for Wayne putting a fire under our #$%&!. Thanks Wayne from Steve, Maggie and our son…..MAX.

  18. Flora says:

  19. Sharon says:

I just cannot say enough about Wayne Rock. He is an awesome advocate and he cares! He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He has been to a couple of CSE meetings with me for my daughter and I am in total awe of him every time. I love the way he goes to bat for the parents and the children. He pulls no punches. He takes his calling seriously and does it with such passion. I would love to take a year and just shadow him and work with him. I could learn so much more from him. If you need an adovcate, he is the way to go. Thank you Wayne for all you do and for the listening and caring ear! -Sharon

  20. Brian Lowery says:

After having our school district fail to diagnois my son’s learning issues, and having the special education department fail to deliver a meaning educational envirnment, we hired Wayne Rock. Not only did Mr.Rock force the school district to provide the appropriate testing, he insured that our rights for a full and productive education was provided for our child. My son is now receiving the education that he never would have been able to obtain, had Wayne Rock not been there for us.
The school district agreed to providing our son with an I-PAD, at home tutoring, testing modifications, independant testing by professionals in the field of education, all at NO COST to us. Thank you Wayne Rock, you made our son the student he is today.

  21. Rosa Matos says:

I have never known any person like Wayne Rock. He fought for my daughter
Elena who as struggled in school for three years. I hired Wayne to advocate
for Elena. After two CSE meetings, Wayne was so instrumental in Elena receiving
the services she needs to be able have positive achievements in school.

Wayne advocates for children from his heart not a business which is why he is the best. I recommend Wayne to anyone who need an advocate to fight for your child to receive the services they need. He knows the laws for special Education.

Thank you so much Wayne. YOU ROCK!!!!! From Rosa, Elena And Eddie

  22. KG, New York says:

After my brief meeting with Wayne a few days before the CSE meeting he was able to assess my daughter’s overall needs. On the day of the meeting as soon as Wayne had the opportunity to speak on behalf of my daughter he humbly directed the CSE committee to immediately focus in on how my daughter’s learning disability is strongly affected by weak language skills in auditory processing. Wayne’s demeanor was cordial and effective. He was strategically able to assist my daughter in receiving more Speech/Language sessions as well as a Central Auditory Processing Evaluation.

Wayne has outlined each phase of how we will implement all requests to the CSE committee. He is a gem! I am pleased with the initial phase of how Wayne has helped my daughter.

    Thnx…Wayne!

  23. JT says:

I don’t know of any other parent advocate consistently orchestrating the positive results Wayne Rock procures for “his kids”. For Wayne, advocating for children is more than a business: It is a labor of love. What is most important to Wayne, is that your child gets the help she or he needs. That is his focus, not counting up the extra minutes he spends talking to you before and after meetings and studying reports.

Wayne has been a parent advocate for nearly twenty years and knows most of the key people in districts throughout New York City and Nassau and Suffolk counties. He understands the data presented in neuropsychological reports, and speech & language testing and can easily talk the talk with top District personnel.

Don’t let his reasonable fees fool you. There is no harder working person advocating for your child.

The district had the opportunity to classify my daughter two years ago at an earlier CSE and did not. Had I known Wayne then, she would have received services these past two years.

This spring, I again asked for a CSE meeting and hired one of those “well known” advocates. One week before the CSE, that firm asked me to sign an exorbitant retainer, many times more than the fee we had discussed. When I refused, they stopped returning my calls.

Fortunately, Wayne stepped in at the 11th hour. Although it was an extremely busy week for him, he made time to read through all my daughter’s reports and entered the meeting fully prepared to go head to head with district reps if needed. He got my daughter classified and won additional services I didn’t even know existed.

    Thank you Wayne, YOU ROCK!

    JT, New York
